A letter from our Founder, President and CEO
Positive change has arrived at The ENYE Group. And I am very excited to formally share these changes with our valued customers, both present and future.
ENYE has always been known in the market for the strength and quality of its portfolio. We strive to bring value through finding the best quality wines, with the best packaging, at a reasonable price that drives a message of value home with consumers. As we begin our transformation into a “Latin” wine company, that philosophy will continue to be the fabric of everything we do.
Our new tagline, “Esenzia Latina”, tells and important story about our new strategy and development. First of all, it pays homage to one of our most successful private label product launches of our history, “ESENZIA”, a wonderful partnership with Bodegas Tempore of Lécera (Zaragoza), Spain. Secondly, it reaffirms our commitment to support family owned wineries and smaller estates, wherever they may be in the world. We will continue to source directly, avoiding negotiants and middlemen, and use our understanding of Latin business culture and the Spanish language to create a win-win for our customers and suppliers.
The Latin wine segment, as represented by Spain, Portugal, Argentina and Chile, has experienced double digit growth through 2009 and 2010, in the context of a very difficult economic environment in the United States. The growth and acceptance of such wines as Malbec, Vinho Verde and Carmènere, especially in the on-premise space, has been particularly spectacular. We want to raise the bar in this segment on quality, while reaffirming our commitment to Spain, which will continue to be the backbone of our portfolio.
We have come a long way since our founding in late 2007. We have a 300+ strong customer base in Illinois, and have recently expanded our distribution network to include partners in 7 states throughout the Midwest. Recent changes in our shareholding structure have allowed us more flexibility to execute on our strategic plans and take decisions quickly. And we have hired new industry professionals to our management team with over 35 years experience in the wholesale wine trade to support us.
I am so excited to be sharing our journey with you on the following pages. I think you will agree that ENYE continues to deliver the best the market has to offer, from not only Spain, but the rest of the Latin world. ¡Salud!
