The Wine Advocate recognizes excellence in ENYE's portfolio for a second year in a row
30-Jun-2011Excellent scores obtained from family-owned wineries Diez-Caballero, Torrederos and Castell del Remei and a solid showing from ESENZIA validates the high quality of ENYE’s portfolio
CHICAGO, Illinois – June 30, 2011 – The ENYE Group is pleased to recognize the very positive reviews published today in The Wine Advocate, Issue #192 by Spanish wine reviewer Dr. Jay Miller. ENYE was selected in January 2010 by Dr. Miller as one of the key national Spanish wine importers allowed to present their portfolio in person annually. In January 2011, ENYE again presented new portfolio and sponsored wines from our existing suppliers.
The outstanding results in the published ratings reflects not only the caliber and quality of ENYE’s portfolio, but also reflects the overall quality and consistency with which our wineries are producing wines in different vintages.
Some of the notable scores to mention were the 2009 vintage of Castell del Remei Gotim Bru, its 7th vintage with 90 points or above since 2000. Bodegas Diez-Caballero scored almost all 90 point ratings or above in this issue, except the Barrel Fermented Viura with 89. Bodegas Torrederos was recognized for another 92 for the 2005 vintage of their classic Reserva, as well as 89 points for the 2009 Roble. Meanwhile, the 2010 vintages of both the ESENZIA Old Vine Garnacha and Old Vine Tempranillo repeated their 88 point score.
A summary listing of reviews for portfolio wines scoring 87 points or higher have been compiled here:
