ENYE announces exciting new products from Spain and Portugal

26-Jul-2011 Fortified wines make a comeback in the Midwest as ENYE incorporates a brand new sherry from Jose Estevez and classic ports and still wines from Casa Burmester in Portugal

CHICAGO, Illinois - July 26, 2011 - The ENYE Group announced today new product arrivals which will complement and enhance our existing Latin portfolio.  For the first time, the company will begin working with a fantastic fortified wine from DO Jerez:  "La Guita" Manzanilla.  These are highly recognized brands in Spain with significant market share in each category.

SHERRIES

"La Guita" Manzanilla NV is made from 100% Palomino Fino from Sanlucar in the traditional style.  For years, it has been the leading brand in the Spanish market with 26% overall market share and 31% share in the on-trade.  It has been aged for more than 3 years in American Oak "botas".

"Without omitting or adding any adjectives to its description, we could accurately say that LA GUITA is a sublime and long wine, elegant and diaphanous, delicate and tender, fragile and distinguished. Lemon golden yellow. Clear and fresh on the nose, aromas indicating a very good biological ageing, crystallized fruit, wild and floral notes, dried fruit (almond). On the palate light, tasty, enveloping, fresh and persistent. Aromatic in the retronasal passage, where the excellent aromas of the nose are reproduced." -Winery Tasting Notes

PORTS AND STILL WINES FROM DOC DOURO - PORTUGAL

In addition to the above Sherries, ENYE is pleased to welcome CASA BURMESTER back to the Midwest.  Burmester is a storied port wine house based in Vila Nova da Gaia, Portugal and founded in 1750.  We are pleased to be working with select Burmester Ports and their still wines from the property in the DOC Douro.

Burmester White Port - Produced exclusively from white grapes, this wine is obtained by blending different harvests. Initially aged in stainless steel vats, it is a very exotic, fresh and delicate wine. It is blended after 3 years. Its aromatic complexity and a Baume of 3º make it an unforgettable experience on a sunny and balmy summer afternoon.

Burmester Jockey Club Reserve Port (7 yr) - This is a Tawny that is approximately 7 years old. It is made by carefully selecting and blending wines that have been aged over a long period of time. It is a tribute to the spirit and passion of the Burmester men for Sport and Nature. It has a strong character and gentle complexity, being rounded and sweet with a light presence of spices. It is the ideal accompaniment to dry fruit.

Burmester 20 year Tawny Port - This CASA BURMESTER classic is carefully aged in small oak casks and blended with a great deal of expertise. The result is a highly delicate and fresh wine, magnificently incorporating exuberant and enduring aromas.

Commenting on the expansion into Portugal and Sherries, Dustin Goldstein, President & CEO of The ENYE Group said "We are pleased to be representing Jose Estevez/Valdespino and Casa Burmester in the US Midwest.  These are wineries with incredible products and a long tradition and history behind them.  Furthermore, these are products that disappeared from the Midwest landscape a few years ago and are now being re-introduced to the market.  This follows our success with re-introducing similar products produced from Bodegas Chivite, Castell del Remei, and others."
