About The ENYE Group
(pronunciation of the
Spanish letter “ñ” in English)
The ENYE Group was founded in 2007 and is based in Chicago,
Illinois. If you’re having trouble pronouncing our name,
think back to your high school Spanish class. “ENYE”
is the written-out phonic pronunciation of the Spanish letter
“ñ” in English. In Spain, the letter “ñ”
is synonymous with all things Spanish: from gastronomy, to
art and culture. It is a state of mind as well as a state
of being.
The ENYE Group through its Imports entity holds a Federal
Basic Importers Permit for Wine, as well as an Illinois Distributors
License through its Distribution entity. Our partners have
deep seated family and professional roots in Spain. We firmly
believe that Spain is a rising international gastronomic star
and that Spanish wine is finally getting the recognition it
deserves in the US market vis-à-vis more traditional
export markets such as France or Italy. As the consumer continues
to discover the amazing value for quality inherent in quality
Spanish wines, the market will continue to expand.
The ENYE Group sources directly through wineries, traveling
to Spain multiple times per year to taste and select only
the best wines for the markets we serve. We leverage our language
abilities as well as our intimate knowledge of cultural and
business practices in Spain to create true partnerships with
our vendors. Our sommelier personally tastes and selects each
of the wines in our portfolio. We strive for representation
of a wide range of appellations, styles (modern vs. traditional)
and varietals. The end result is a well balanced portfolio
of fabulous wines that have not previously been present in
the Illinois market.

Mission Statement
Our goal is to discover, import, and distribute wines from
established and emerging regions in Spain. We will support
wines made in sustainable methods from small production estates
and co-operatives. We will focus on wines that are varietally
specific to the region and reflective of their terroir. We
are committed to bringing wines to the market that are of
an excellent quality, at fair and competitive prices.
